The fifteenth edition of Maritime Industry is at 7, 8 and 9 May 2019 visited by 10,964 professionals from the maritime sector. This one anniversary edition was officially opened by three mayors: Reinie Melissant-Briene (Gorinchem), Wouter Kolff (Dordrecht) and Marcel Fränzel (Altena). Exhibition organizer Easyfairs gave during Maritime Industry 2019 The Netherlands the Friends of the Sophia Foundation a platform to raise money to raise funds and donors. At the end of the exhibition the organization was able to give them a check of no less than € 19,250.50.
“We look back on this with a very enthusiastic and positive feeling edition. And that we were allowed such a nice check at the end of the fair handing over to the Friends of the Sophia Foundation was the icing on the cake, ”says Bianca van Grinsven on behalf of Maritime Industry. “From the moment the stock market Opened from Tuesday to Thursday evening, the aisles and stands were continuously good stuffed up. For this edition, the routing on the exhibition floor was different than before. From Grinsven: “We have ensured that with the new, more playful routing visitors were, as it were, unknowingly led past all exhibitors. Furthermore, this anniversary edition was the moment for us to exhibit from the first hour in the spotlight. We reached out to these 35 exhibitors as a thank you for their many years of trust and commitment, a special anniversary award from. Without them, Maritime Industry would never have been such an important exhibition for the inland shipping. We are extremely grateful to these exhibitors.”
There was extra use of the Maritime Industry 15-year anniversary activities at the exhibition. So there was an anniversary zone where history, present and the future of the exhibition were presented. Furthermore, all visitors received at the entrance a voucher that they could redeem in the anniversary zone for a good cup of coffee from a barista including cakes. Visitors could also participate in a raffle, where the trade show organizers give a weekend away every trading day . One of the winners was Jaap Aarnoudse from VOF Jacoba. After his visit on on Tuesday he returned on Thursday to collect his prize.
New at Maritime Industry this year was a knowledge theater where various speakers spoke on current topics in the maritime sector, such as low water on the rivers, emission standards for inland shipping, logistics opportunities for inland navigation and sailing degassing. The different sessions were possible count on a lot of interest and the organization wants to continue with the knowledge theat for the 2020 edition.
Due to the success of this edition, already 267 exhibitors have already registered during the exhibition for the next edition of Maritime Industry on 12, 13 and 14 May 2020 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. “That expresses a lot of confidence and appreciation. Our job is to get everything out of the closet to offer the most complete platform for the maritime sector. We will at least do that with a completely new top floor. The renovation work has already started. A second ultramodern and fully-fledged exhibition hall will be created immediately. The first designs look amazing, “says Van Grinsven.
