GORINCHEM – The eighteenth edition of the Maritime Industry trade fair was visited by 9.000 professionals on May 28, 29 and 30, 2024. In total, over 350 exhibitors presented themselves at this three-day trade fair for the maritime industry in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. The exhibition organizers also raised money for charity again, which this year resulted in no less than €20,000 for Mercy Ships. The next edition of Maritime Industry will be on May 20, 21 and 22, 2025.
‘We look back on a very successful edition of Maritime Industry. It remains a treat every time to organize this event in the vibrant heart of inland shipping. The trade fair is a mix of tradition, innovation and knowledge sharing. It is great to see that all facets of the industry can be found here and that it is a meeting place for everyone who cares about inland navigation. We as an organization are very satisfied with this edition, but our exhibitors are also very positive. This resulted, for example, in more than 80% of all exhibitors already confirming their participation for 2025 during the fair. That is an incredible number, of which we are enormously proud,’ says Malou Weststrate on behalf of Maritime Industry.
For the second year in a row, the Career Event took place at the trade show. This initiative on the second day of the fair offered opportunities for both job seekers and employers. The Career Event was again well attended and the organization received many positive comments, making it worth repeating. The new Innovation Square at Next Level was also well received. Groundbreaking technologies and innovations were presented here. Visitors could also vote for the leading innovation. The winner was MarFlex with their Smart Pumping Solution, which is a system for simultaneous, automatic and energy-efficient unloading of multiple tanks on a ship carrying liquid cargo.
Every year a charity is also highlighted. This year that charity was Mercy Ships. A Charity lunch was held and funds were raised to purchase new mooring lines for the Global Mercy, the largest privately owned hospital ship in the world. A total of no less than €20,000 was raised during the fair.
The nineteenth edition of Maritime Industry will be on Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 May 2025 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. Put it in your calendar!
