ATEX-certified equipment and personnel:
MarFlex products are ATEX certified, guaranteeing that the systems meet the strict safety standards expected by customers. Employees are also trained in ATEX safety, from sales and service to our engineers and project managers. In addition, MarFlex offers training in the use of MarFlex equipment at four locations worldwide.
Electrically driven Deepwell pumps:
MarFlex’s Deepwell pumps are powerful and efficient pumping systems capable of pumping a wide range of liquid loads. The pumps are designed to handle both oil-based products and various chemical products. Thanks to the use of modern electric motors, these pumps are up to 20% more efficient than comparable hydraulically driven systems. MarFlex also offers various services to support the operation and maintenance of these pumps.
The Deepwell pumps can pump the following fluids, among others:

- Chemical products
Smart Pumping System:
The MarFlex Smart Pumping System is an innovative system designed to optimise the operation of electrically driven pumps during each stage of the operation, allowing multiple tanks on a ship carrying liquid cargo to be unloaded simultaneously and automatically. This system won the ‘Schuttevaer Award’ in 2023 and was voted winner of the ‘Innovation Square at Next Level’ event during the Maritime Industry 2024 exhibition.
In line with the ‘Pumping for Life’ philosophy, MarFlex’s Smart Pumping System delivers significant energy savings, with tested results of up to 40% energy savings and an estimated CO2 reduction of 100,000 kg per year. The system also speeds up the unloading operation, which increases the life of the pumps. As the system automates the operation of the pumps, it also reduces maintenance risks for the ship’s crew.
This system is very flexible and can be integrated into new vessels or retrofitted to existing vessels already equipped with MarFlex Deepwell pumps. It can also be adapted to use renewable energy from the shore power grid during unloading operations, allowing the system to easily respond to customers’ needs.
