GORINCHEM – The trade show Maritime Industry that was planned for May 12, 13, and 14 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem will be moved to October 13, 14, and 15, 2020. This is due to the coronavirus. The limitations and additional measures the Dutch government is currently imposing mean that planned events scheduled before June 1 are canceled. Tradeshow organizer Easyfairs has been mapping out the possibilities for relocating Maritime Industry for quite some time. “Considering the unpredictability and the fact that Easyfairs has no control over the coronavirus, it has become impossible to let Maritime Industry proceed. The health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors, and employees are paramount,” explains Bianca van Grinsven, Head of Event Maritime Industry of fair organizer Easyfairs.

Easyfairs follows the measures taken by the Dutch government and that means that Maritime Industry will shift from May to October. This new date has been carefully determined in close consultation with exhibitors and partners. Van Grinsven: “We feel it would not be socially responsible to ignore the current coronavirus situation and we support all government actions. Furthermore, the maritime sector is on the national government’s list of essential professions and vital processes. We therefore have to be extra careful with them and offer protection where we can. These are extraordinary circumstances. We were very much looking forward to this event with our exhibitors, partners, and visitors, but this is the only right decision. Despite the fact that the current situation is outside Easyfairs’ control, we are confident that we can have a valuable and successful edition this fall.”

The sixteenth edition of Maritime Industry will be moved to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday October 13, 14, and 15, 2020. It will still be held in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. The opening hours and floor plan for the trade show will remain unchanged. That means that Maritime Industry will still be open to visitors from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on these new dates. It will be the first edition of Maritime Industry that will use the completely renovated upper floor of Evenementenhal Gorinchem. This creates an additional 5,800 square meters of floor space for the trade show.
